Hi, I’m Megan, your new favorite bookkeeper.
I am a right-brained accountant who has been finding her way in life by doing things a little differently.
With over 10 years experience in the accounting industry, my experience spans the course of Big 4 public accounting, internal financial and managerial positions, and working with an accounting and consulting firm dedicated to serving clients in the start-up sector in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Since starting my own business, I thrive working with business owners who are passionate about what they do and are invested in the health of their business. The clients I serve understand the value of streamlining the accounting and financial operations of their business and are looking to reclaim their own time by outsourcing this role to a 3rd party.
I believe we can work together towards a mutually beneficial goal that allows us to both go spend more time doing the things we love.

I work with small to mid size companies and entrepreneurs to support your accounting and finance processes that make up the backbone of your business.
At the simplest level, I am your bookkeeper. However, my background and experience gives me the skills and insight to be much more valuable to your business.
My goal is to help you get organized, streamline financial processes, understand your overall financial health and plan for the future you want. I offer hourly financial consulting or I can be integrated into your business to seamlessly take over those annoying accounting projects that you don’t want to deal with.
NO TAXES! No, I cannot do your taxes. But I will work alongside your preferred tax professional to make tax season a breeze. Everything we do throughout the year to keep your books in order - will make tax season easier than ever.

How it works
Pricing
Most services are billed hourly although some project based work will be quoted as a flat rate fee. Prices are customized to your business and scope of work - the rate is agreed upon upfront through the discovery and engagement process.
Bookkeeping: Rates range from $75-125 per hour depending on company size and complexity
Special Projects & Consulting: Customized to fit scope of engagement
How it works
New Client Discovery
1) Discovery Questionnaire - This is a brief form you will complete as a first step to provide some basic information. Our conversation will be more productive when you provide some upfront information about your current situation and what you are looking to accomplish.
2) Discovery Consultation Call - We’ll talk through your questions, get to know one another, and talk about options. I charge a $50 fee for our first meeting for the guidance I provide during the call and to minimize no shows. Thank you for understanding.
3) Engagement Scope- We work together to define a statement of work based on your needs and budget.
Short-term project: Defined by a clear list of one-time deliverables.
Example: cleanup projects, accounting system setup/consult, DIY quickbooks training sessions, budget/forecast prep
Recurring: Defined by a set of recurring monthly or quarterly deliverables.
Example: Monthly close & financial reporting, management of day-to-day financial operations (bills, invoices, payroll, etc)
4) Engagement Letter is signed, sealed, delivered
5) Engagement Kickoff - a timeline will be agreed upon and will depend on proper access to systems and requested support being provided to get started.

How I got here
My Experience
I have 10+ years experience in accounting and finance working with companies of all sizes and industries. I started my career in public accounting at KPMG before moving on with work in the private solar industry and then consulting with early to mid stage startups in the San Francisco Bay Area. I work with clients to implement efficient business processes, mange day-to-day finance operations, advise on complex accounting issues and support management by providing the financial data they need to make important strategic decisions.
I started a business of my own because I have a desire to build my life around the things I love. After spending almost a decade in San Francisco and several years living on the road in my converted campervan - I have met an overwhelming number of smart, driven and amazing individuals following their dreams and sometimes breaking ground on a new business along the way. My goal here is simple; work with interesting people to help them do interesting things.
This includes new businesses and old. Creatives, consulting agencies, construction companies, coffee shops, fitness studios, retail shops and everything in between. I want to learn more about what you’re doing, what is working for your business and what is not.
I am here to be a resource as you juggle the many complexities of owning a business. That may entail a few hours of consulting on your business plan, a day to cleanup your quickbooks account, a few weeks to help you setup the accounting for your new business or an ongoing relationship where I take over your accounting ops to give you more time focus other parts of your business.
